Motivational Interviewing, founded by William Miller (pictured left), is a type of conversation that is conscious about using change-oriented language. The mission of MI is to help foster an environment where patients feel supported in setting and achieving goals for themselves.
What is CoCM?
The Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) was developed in the 1990s at the University of Washington. As opposed to having patients go to each of their healthcare providers on individual levels, it encourages workers to collaborate as a team and establish the best route of treatment for patients.
